Birther Madness

The level of insanity in this country is reaching fever pitch, and most of it is coming from the Tea Party wackos who seem to have an aversion to things like facts, as evidenced by a new bill making its way through the Oklahoma State Legislature. As Mother Jones reports, the bill, which would require all presidential candidate to "present a valid, long-form certificate before their names can appear on the ballot in the Sooner State." This, despite the fact that some states don't even issue long-form birth certificates. The bill's sponsor, state Sen. Ralph Shortey (R) swears it's not a birther bill, which it plainly is. In a statement to The Oklahoman, Shortey said:

"A lot of people are classifying this as a birther bill which I don't think it is," Shortey said. "The concern has stemmed from the questions that have arisen from President Obama."
Which makes it a birther bill. /facepalm
